Tank
My tank was purchased from Glass cages and measures 36x36x18" with 1/4" glass. The tank was picked up at the MTRC frag swap in Tennessee on January 19th 2008

Biological Filtration
In my tank I have 75 lbs Fiji dry rock and 25 lbs Tonga shelf rock from Marco rocks. I used a 3:1 water : vinegar bath to dissolve the outer layers of the rock and remove the phosphates bound in the rock. There are a number of threads on reef central about this process. For substrate I used 75lbs of Carib Sea special grade sand and another 25lbs in my sump. To get a jumpstart on my pod/beneficial "bug" population I ordered a mix 'n match kit from Indo-Pacific Sea Farms. Overall I'm glad I ordered the kit, I got a lot of cool macro algae and the pod breeding kit was most helpful. I would imagine that similar results could be attained if you snagged a cup or two of sand from an established, well-fed tank and let your tank sit empty (without fish) for a few months.
